Onboarding Direct Plan Members
Getting Started with Broker Portal
Step 1: Get Appointed
Before you can access EMI Central (formerly the Broker Portal), you’ll need to become appointed with EMI Health. Our enrollment team will:

File your license with the appropriate state(s)

Assign you a unique broker number
Step 2: Watch for Your Welcome Email
Once appointed, you’ll receive a welcome email with your EMI Central login credentials and setup instructions.
Step 3: Enroll Clients Through EMI Central
After logging in:

Click the “Enroll Individual” tab at the top of the portal

Select your licensed state from the dropdown

You’ll be directed to a page with that state’s EMI Health plan options
Even though the enrollment page resembles our public site, the URL is tied to your broker account. All enrollments through this page will be tracked and credited to your book of business.

Waiving Waiting Periods
To request a waiting period waiver for your client, please submit a Certificate of Prior Coverage with the following information:

Coverage start and end dates
-
Names of individuals covered (must match the enrollment timeline)

Plan name and carrier — the certificate must be:

On the carrier’s letterhead, or
-
In an official email from the prior carrier

Send documentation to:

We’ll waive applicable waiting periods based on what the prior coverage allows. Each case is reviewed individually.
